According to Aaron Light, New Girl’s on-screen stylist, Zooey’s hair has a really nice in-between texture—not too thick, not too fine—and a natural wave. Blunt bangs that are tapered on the sides help dramatize her eyes and all-over layers enhance her hair’s bend and create volume. To get her TV style, Light mists Zooey’s hair with Oribe Volumista Mist, separates it into 4 sections and uses a 1 or ½” curling iron, wrapping sections down the barrel and away from the face. Then, he sets each curl with a light hairspray. To finish, Light works through the curls with a wide-tooth comb, back-combs the crown and works Moroccanoil into the ends.
