Now that we’re halfway through Summer, you’re probably trying to squeeze out as much beach, pool & boat time as possible. Before you bare your bod in that bikini, check out these waxing do’s & don’ts from Hibba Kapil, hair removal pro and owner of Hibba Beauty (hibbabeauty.com), now with a brand-new second location in Midtown NYC at Madison Avenue.

DO:
Exfoliate thoroughly with a loofah in the shower. Whether you shave or wax, this will help avoid in-grown hairs and bumps.

See a pro once a month to ensure an expert, deeply cleansed job.

If it’s your first time, find a trained technician who is licensed. Don’t be
embarrassed–your technician has seen it all! If you’re nervous it’ll hurt more.

Exfoliate the morning of your appointment to prep skin and hair.

Be sure hair is a quarter of an inch long to achieve best wax results.

DON’TS:

Do not shave for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

After your bikini wax avoid hot water, exfoliation and rough workouts for 48hrs to avoid bumps or ingrown hairs.

Avoid intervening with a razor in-between appointments unless you absolutely must.
