Claire Danes had all heads turning her way at the Emmy Awards; while she’s recently been wearing her golden locks at mid-length, she made a grand entrance rocking a sleek retro-inspired bob. Want an insider secret? Her bob was totally faux! That’s right—no inches were removed in the making of her red-carpet ’do, created by celebrity hairstylist Peter Butler with John Frieda products to complement her beautiful Armani Prive gown.

Want to go faux at home? Re-create Claire’s bob look in 5 easy steps, courtesy of Butler:

1. Apply a few pumps of Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Formula Hair Serum and Frizz- Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse, then blow-dry.

2. Give yourself a low side part then with a large-barrel curling iron, curling hair inward.

3. Create two small pin curls at the nape of your neck; comb the top of your hair down and under, pinning as needed to the base.

4. Tuck hair behind your ear and spray Frizz- Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray for hold, following up with a light coat of Frizz-Ease 100% Shine.
