Treat yourself to some ‘bliss’ with the Meditation Mani at Bliss Spa–after a pampering half hour you’ll say “Om”!! The limited edition manicure includes a guided meditation by Gabrielle Bernstein, author of May Cause Miracles and a next generation spiritual teacher, while you indulge in a hot cream hand soak, cuticle clipping, pushing, perfecting and polishing. I tried it out this past weekend after a sweaty Vinyasa class (that’s Essie Wicked on my nails)–and, as soon as I hopped on the subway, I dove right into my new copy of the book!

The Meditation Mani includes:

warm up:

·         Removing your old polish – out with the old, in with the new.

·         Shaping your nails – think about how you want to shape your life in the new year. Ask yourself: what do I want? How do I want to live? What do I need?

massage and meditate:

·         During the hot cream massage be mindful of your breath. If you feel pain or tension simply breathe into the discomfort and allow it to dissolve.  Massaging, breathing.

wind down:

·         As the final touches of polish are applied, sit, collect yourself, etc. Rather than worry about what you have to do next, take time to center into the moment.  Enjoy the gift you’ve given yourself.
